Pit bulls have been banned or restricted in several countries, China, Germany pending, Ontario - and numerous cities and municipalities across the USA. In the United Kingdom, the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 prohibits the sale or breeding of "any dog of the type known as pit bull terrier." Some jurisdictions in the Australian states of Queensland, New South Wales, and the United States have similar breed-specific legislation, varying from a total ban on ownership to muzzling in public. However, I do not believe in muzzling. Pit bulls can be and have recently proved to be VERY DANGEROUS. They can be as dangerous as a Leopard, if not properly trained and cared for. A Pit Bull in the wrong hands can create a national disaster, as is rapidly doing so this day.
A ban will eventually come to your town or state...eventually nation wide, so you want to be aware of your alternatives. You can start a ban now and save your pit, or you can let someone else start one after a another death, and lose your authoritative rights. If you are a good pit bull owner and abide by the rules, you and your gushingly loving pet can live happily ever after. If not, consequences will follow. If you love the BREED of your animal, you will participate in banning all pit bull breeders! and owners of pit bulls who cause the excrutiating maiming and deaths of others.

Request an introduction of H1686. This bill requires that the owners of "pit bulls" purchase a $500 permit for each pit bull owned and no person may own more than 2 pit bulls.
It costs the average person around $2,000 a year to take care of an animal properly. If one cannot afford the animal, one should not have one. Yes this could be costly, but if a person loves their animals, no cost is too much. Take responsibility for your pit bull and get it registered. Then if something should go wrong, as often it does, you will be somewhat protected if your pit bull gets a bug and decides to attack.
Right now, this country doesn't need anymore dogs or cats, period! Millions of animals are rotting in animal shelters waiting for someone to love them, millions are dying because there are no homes for them, millions are tortured, starved, fought, abused, neglected, etc. Not only the pit bull, but many, millions of others. No dog should be chained or penned up for more than two hours at a time. That should be a law. It is neglectful and abusive. Even the people on death row get a warm room and a bed to lay their head. There is simply NOT enough good homes for dogs or cats anymore.
We need laws not only for the pit, but for every animal deprived of a good home life with their loved ones. Cages should only be used for exercise, and fun. The head of Springfield Mo, human society said to me one time, "there is an amazingly amount of people who own animals simply to have something to control. They will get a dog and either chain them outside, or leave them to live their lives in a caged yard. These animals lose their spirit and ability to learn. Then their children see the way their parents raise animals and follow suit. It's become an epidemic, and it's enough to break any animal lovers heart."
MOST DOGS ARE BORN GOOD THEN THEY ARE TRAINED TO HAVE BAD HABITS! WE ARE AT FAULT NOT THE POOR PITBULLS, JUST HUMANS CAN BE BAD IF TAUGHT!
